Bromley Tennis Centre in Kent for their 2018 County Cup, captained by Damien and Selena. Unfortunately the team from the Isle of Man withdrew, so we had to be perfect in our matches against Suffolk and Cumbria to progress.

First up was Suffolk and after the singles rubbers we had all to do. There were great wins for Leontina and Rachel, and a close 6-4 7-5 defeat for Emma, which left us 4-2 down before the doubles. Unfortunately that deficit proved too much, although Rachel and Amber won their rubber. Suffolk won 6-3 so we needed to bounce back against Cumbria.

This time we got a much better start in the singles. We lost two tough rubbers at numbers 1 and 2, but Leontina, Zara, Eva and Rachel all won, to leave us 4-2 up and only needing one doubles rubber for victory. Our great form continued in the doubles, with Zara and Shreya winning 6-2 6-0 to seal the tie. The other two rubbers both came down to match tiebreaks with mixed results. Rachel and Amber dominated 10-1, while Jemma and Leontina fought hard and eventually lost 11-9.
